Are You Accidentally Sabotaging Your Diet plan?

Everybody knows that the best foods we can take in are whole grains, lean meats along with healthy fats. These would be the ingredients which will give us the energy and protein we need. They keep our bodies nutritionally healthy with minimal calories while we work hard to burn off our fat at the gym. Did you already know, though, that some of the foods you are eating that are supposed to be perfectly fine by dietary standards, could be keeping you from losing weight at a good pace? They can also be making you gain extra weight! Here are a number of the foods which may be undermining your diet work.

Sports Drinks are not serving you whatsoever. You’ve most likely been told that if you want to help your body rejuvenate itself after a work out, you should drink a sports drink. Most physicians agree, however, that if your exercise routine is shorter than ninety minutes, drinking water should be fine. Sports drinks could completely undermine your diet because they are filled to the brim with sugar, empty calories and artificial colors and flavors. Instead, look at consuming some chocolate milk. Your body uses the sugar in the chocolate for muscle mass repair and everyone knows how good milk is for you.

You do not need protein shakes. So many people think that having a protein shake is a good way to stop cravings when it isn’t meal time. What you are actually doing, specifically if the remainder of your diet consists of whole and healthy foods, is helping your body overdose on protein. No matter what other folks imagine, protein is not kept in the muscles, it is stored in your body as fat. This means that if you have already ingested too much protein that day, your system will basically store what it doesn’t need in your fat cells and that doesn’t help you lose weight or inches of your waist line at all.

Pre-packaged deli meat is not nearly as healthy for you as you might believe it is. You possibly believe that a sandwich that is made out of pre-packaged lean deli meat and whole grain bread is a pretty good lunch. Actually, pre-packaged deli meat has much too many preservatives plus sodium (one helping contains about a third of the amount of sodium you should eat in a day). This could be particularly risky if you are at risk for heart disease. Rather than buying pre-packaged deli meat, choose some home cooked chicken or the deli meat that is newly sliced at your deli counter. Sure these are a lot more expensive options but they are rather a lot healthier for you.

There are a wide range of things that we assume will help us lose weight like eating a whole wheat bagel each morning but the truth is that eating a bowl of oatmeal sprinkled with cinnamon is a lot better for our health and waist lines. Ask your doctor which foods are best for you and then eat those. If you are mindful about what you eat and treat your body well, losing weight should not be that big of an issue for you!
