You usually are not truly helped by Sports Drinks. You’ve probably been told that if you wish to help your body rejuvenate itself after a work out, you should drink a sports drink. Most doctors will tell you, though, that if your workout doesn’t go over ninety minutes then you should be fine just by drinking water. Sports drinks are full of calories and sugar and a heap of other stuff like artificial flavors and colors that will defeat any of your attempts at eating a natural and healthy diet. Try drinking some chocolate milk as a substitute. The sugar in chocolate may help your muscles start to fix themselves plus the calcium in the milk will strengthen your bones.

You do not need protein shakes. So many people assume that consuming a protein shake is a good way to stop cravings when it isn’t meal time. The real truth is that if you are already eating a balanced diet all the protein shake really does is overburden your system with protein. No matter what others imagine, protein is not kept in the muscles, it is stored in your body as fat. This shows that when you have taken in a lot of protein during the day your body stores what it doesn’t need in your fat, which won’t help you lose weight or inches at all.

Pre-packaged deli meat is not nearly as healthy as you might think it is. You likely believe that a sandwich that is made from pre-packaged lean deli meat and whole grain bread is a pretty good lunch. The real truth is that pre-packaged deli meat has a massive amount preservatives and will provide you with about a third of your advised sodium ingestion for the day. This could be particularly tricky if you are prone to heart disease. Instead of buying the pre-packaged stuff, you ought to instead use home cooked poultry or freshly sliced meat from your grocery store’s deli counter. Yes you are going to shell out more money for these selections but you will be healthier if you choose them.

There are all kinds of things that we assume will help us lose weight: eating a whole wheat bagel in the morning, for instance is actually a lot worse for you than a bowl of oatmeal with some cinnamon sprinkled into it for flavor.
